Clients, projects, and accomplishments

Internationally, more than 1,000 schools have installed our products. We have experience in Enciclomedia (165,000 Interactive Board for the Mexican Market), FATIH Project (580,000 Interactive Boards for the Turkish Market), and we are working with some governments to create similar projects.

iBoard’s history

Intel Education Alliance

Became member on Intel Education Alliance. As an alliance member, iBoard® is able to showcase its education solutions in the context of a comprehensive teaching and learning platform provided by Intel.

FaTIH Project

iBoard began mass production in Turkey, as part of the FaTIH project, which is sponsored by the Turkish Ministry of Transportation. The purpose is to provide all K-12 classrooms in the country with an interactive board.

iBoard Black®

The first of its kind, we began manufacturing the first LCD iBoard in North America, known as iBoard Black®. iBoard Black® has won awards and received the Scientific Research and Development incentive for 2010 in Canada.

iBoard Blue®

We designed and manufactured the first iBoard® Blue. This design focuses on ergonomics, an integrated sound system and the rear cabinet to house the PC. Patents for the product were obtained in Canada, USA, and Mexico.

Awards & Franchises

With the IP package ready, iBoard® joined TECTORIA (delivered by VIATeC), and was presented with the Cristal award by the Peninsula CC for an innovative product. iBoard accomplished important milestones, such as signing franchise agreements in Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, and created a significant joint venture in Turkey.

The Learning Year

We began sales of electronic boards to educational institutions. In the process, we have learned how to improve our technology through teacher feedback.

The Business Model

A new business model has been created, making the technology available worldwide. This has changed from manufacturing to licensing the intellectual property and processes into an industrial franchise, beginning in the Latin America market.

Started to meet the needs of computer equipment in the academic area.

Social Responsibility and the Environment

Our products are environment friendly helping to make human race more sustainable. iBoard® is socially responsible to the communities it serves, among the initiatives considered are the creation of local jobs in the manufacturing process, consumption of local products and services, and jobs to local professionals to either install, maintain or train on products and services we offer, contributing to the local economy and society. We are committed with the environment: in many products, we used an important amount of recycled components.

iBoard® is in continuous research and development of new solutions, more than 50% of our operating expenses are dedicated to research, development and innovation in new products and services. This is an important aspect of the culture, values and philosophy of iBoard®, which is committed to be always at the forefront of technological advances.

New Product or Service Crystal Award (2012) / High Tech innovation of the year Crystal Award (2010) The Annual Crystal Awards recognized the outstanding accomplishments and contributions of businesses on the Saanich Peninsula in sustaining and enhancing the economic and social well being of our community during the past year.

CRA Scientific Research and Experimental Development Grant (2008,2009, 2010 and 2011)

The Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Program is a federal tax incentive program to encourage Canadian businesses of all sizes and in all sectors to conduct research and development (R&D) in Canada that will lead to new, improved, or technologically advanced products or processes. The SR&ED Program is the largest single source of federal government support for industrial R&D.

VIATeC Technology Awards: Innovative Excellence – Hardware (2012 Finalist)

The VIATeC Technology Awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the Greater Victoria technology sector.

UPS Entrepreneurial Spirit Award (2008)

In an effort to recognize SMEs for their entrepreneurial spirit in demonstrating innovative ideas and practices that have resulted in a successful business, UPS has launched the “UPS Entrepreneurial Spirit Award” in Latin America.
